COLCHESTER — BLEAU, Aspatia ”Spa” — A celebration of her life was held on Monday, October 2, 2000 at 12:30 p.m. in the Ready Funeral Chapel, 68 Pinecrest Dr., Essex Jct., with the Rev. Albert Baltz officiating. Words of remembrances were offered by her son-in-law, Robert Stowell, her grandson, Thomas Stowell, and her nephew, Wayne Bither. Attending were many relatives, friends and neighbors, representatives from IBM, IFSCO, Johnson State College, AC Paving, Engineers Construction, and Bannister Roofing. Interment followed in Fort Ethan Allen Cemetery with Fr. Baltz reading committal prayers. An Eternal Candle was lit by her grandson, Todd Stowell. Urn bearer was Todd Stowell. Honorary bearers were Wayne Bither, grandsons, Thomas Stowell, Robbie Tobler, Terry Tobler, Loren Bleau.
COLCHESTER — DACRES, Edward A. – Funeral services were held on Monday, October 2, 2000 at 11 a.m. in the Winooski United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Purvee and Rev. James Clark officiating. The music was by Marie Johnson. Interment followed in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Winooski with Rev. Purvee offering committal prayers. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski, VT.

— A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated
Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at 11 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church
with the Rev. Richard Lavalley officiating. Concelebrating the Mass was
the Rev. Pierre Lavallee. The readings were proclaimed by Thomas Kane.
Words of remembrance were shared with the many in attendance by
Reginald’s granddaughter, Susan Anderson-Brown. The music was provided
by Yvette Tatro and Kay Marquette. An honor guard was represented by 4th
Degree members of the Knights of Columbus. Interment followed in St.
Francis Xavier Cemetery with Father Lavalley offering committal prayers.
At the conclusion of the services, Reginald’s grandchildren and
great-grandchildren released balloons into the sky as a special
celebration for the life of their ""Pepere.” Bearers were
Brent Desautels, Reginald Desautels, Todd Desautels, Jeff Desautels,
Keith Baker and Peter Brown. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral
Home, Winooski.
BURLINGTON — READY, William J. — A
largely attended Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, Oct. 6,
2000, at 1 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with the
Rev. Thomas Ball officiating. The readings were proclaimed by Maureen
Bellinson and Elizabeth Ready. The offertory gifts were presented by
Rosemary and Douglas Hall, Judy Delage and Debby Patterson. The eulogy
was delivered by Kevin P. Scully. Attending were many fellow members of
the funeral profession, which formed an honor guard. Also attending were
numerous representatives of the Burlington business community and
families who Bill cared for over the years as a funeral director; the
Sisters of Mercy, Senator Patrick Leahy’s office, represented by Mr.
Chuck Ross, and Senator James Jeffords’ office, represented by his chief
of staff, Susan Boardman Russ. A very special note of acknowledgment and
thanks is extended to all of the part-time staff of the Ready Funeral
Home who would come to our aid in helping to prepare and support all of
the activities around the funeral rites of William J. Ready. We wish
also to acknowledge the numerous funeral directors who called to offer
assistance and for those who would leave their home and travel the
distance to fulfill the responsibilities normally carried out by the
Ready Funeral Home staff. Music was provided by Donna Foster and John
Sonick who sang ""Oh Danny Boy.” Interment followed in
Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington with Father Ball offering
committal prayers. A musical tribute was offered by Mark Lamphier.
Bearers were Larry Smith, John Smith, David Varricchione, Thomas
Barnhart, Thomas Whalen, Mark Covey and William Andres.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at 11
a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Burlington with
the Rev. Thomas Ball officiating. The altar server was Loretta’s nephew,
Richard Ploof. Singing was by the Christian Funeral Choir. The music was
provided by Lori McCormick. Interment followed in New Mount Calvary
Cemetery in Burlington with Father Ball offering committal prayers.

CHARLOTTE — ROUSSIN, Randy M. — A Mass
of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, Oct. 7, 2000, at 10 a.m. in
St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Roland Rivard
officiating. Assisting was Deacon Louis Meunier. Readings were
proclaimed by Randy’s brother-in-law, Ed Coyle; and sister-in-law,
Arlene Roussin. Offertory gifts were presented by nieces Emiliee Coyle
and Heather Roussin, and nephew Benjamin Coyle. Music was provided by
organist Lois Desautels. Words of remembrance were shared by
brother-in-law Jerry Powell. In attendance were many friends, neighbors,
and union members from the International Association of Machinists and
Aerospace Workers, LL2704. Interment followed in New Mount Calvary
Cemetery with the Rev. Rivard offering committal prayers. Bearers were
Marty Dion, Tim Carter, Larry Cota, Shanna Powell, Paul Bombard Jr.,

COLCHESTER – LAWRENCE, Jeanne Mazza — A largely attended Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated on Monday, October 9, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester, with the Rev. Leo Bilodeau as Celebrant and the Rev. Roger Charbonneau as Concelebrant. The Readings were proclaimed by Jim Morrill and Theresa Zimbron. The Offertory Gifts were presented by Sam and Donna Mazza, John and Carolyn Leo, Jim and Elma Morrill and Richie and Dolly Mazza. The Distribution of Flowers of Remembrance were by Laurie Bombard, Cheryl Paterson, Annette Wheel and Melissa Mazza Abeling. Remarks of Remembrance were by Sue Rowley and Matthew Stanley. The music was by the Holy Cross Folk Group. Altar servers were Leonel Sabourin and Harry Mitchell. Interment followed in the Holy Cross Cemetery, with Father Bilodeau and Father Charbonneau offering committal prayers. The Readings were proclaimed by Thomas Kane. The music was by Mary O’Kane. Interment followed in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, with Father Kiely offering committal prayers. ""Ed” Martin, 70, who passed away Oct. 4, 2000, in Porter
Medical Center, will be held Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2000, at 2 p.m. in the
Middlebury Congregational Church. The Rev. Diana Scholl, chaplain of
Porter Medical Center, will officiate. Friends may call Monday, Oct. 9,
2000, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Sanderson Funeral Service, 117 S. Main St.,
Middlebury. Sanderson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
BURLINGTON — REGINBALD, Marlene M. — Funeral services for Marlene M. Reginbald were held Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. in the LaVigne Funeral Home in Winooski, with Pastor Michael Kriesel officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Cornwall, Vt. with Marlene’s brother Gordon sharing in prayer.

GRAND ISLE — WALKER, Edna — Funeral
services were held Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2000, in St. Joseph’s Roman
Catholic Church in Grand Isle with Father Roger Charbonneau celebrating
the Mass of Christian Burial. Altar servers were Lance Conkon and Nick
Ploof. Music was provided by Lilli Spitzner and the Islands Choir of
Christian Comfort. The pall was placed on Mrs. Walker;’s casket by her
two daughters, Starr Prim and Cynthia Cook. The readings were proclaimed
by Mrs. Walker’s great-grandson, Dylan Martell, and grandson Eric Lavery.
The offertory gifts were presented by granddaughters Kim Martell,
Jennifer Lavery, and Autumn Prim, and grandson David LaFata. Burial
followed in Grand Isle Cemetery with Father Charbonneau offering the
committal prayers. Bearers were Kevin Cook, David LaFata, Eric Lavery,
Yancy Martell, Mike Mayville, and Bud Prim. Arrangements were by the
Minor Funeral Home, Milton.

SHELBURNE — DeFORGE, Marguerite L. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, October 12, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ the King Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Roland Rivard officiating. Assisting was Deacon Louis Meunier. Readings were proclaimed by grandchildren, Andrea Yandow and David DeForge. Offertory gifts were presented by granddaughters, Marcy Yandow and Eliza Schofield. Music was provided by Christ the King Folk Group. In remembrance of Marguerite, a poem was read by her granddaughter, Jennifer DeForge. Interment followed in Resurrection Park Cemetery with the Rev. Rivard reading committal prayers. Bearers were Marguerite’s grandsons, Jason Yandow, David Yandow, Michael DeForge, Martin DeForge, Chris Schofield, and Matt Schofield. Arrangements were by Ready Funeral Home, South Chapel, Burlington.
ESSEX JUNCTION — SPENCER, Mabel W. — Funeral services for Mabel W. Spencer were held on Thursday, October 12, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ready Funeral Home, Mountain View Chapel, with the Rev. Stephen Garvey officiating. Burial followed in Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Garvey offering committal prayers. Pallbearers were Andrew Urie, Vern Bissell, Charles Barss, Steven Wilkie, Roger Laramee and Tim McCullum. SHELBURNE — ARRUZZA, Joseph — A Mass of
Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, October 14, 2000 at 10 a.m. in
St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church, with Father Phillip
Lamothe officiating. The organist was Arthur Pare and altar server was
Frank Poulin. Burial followed in St. Luke’s Cemetery in Fairfax, with
Father Lamothe conducting the committal prayers. Full military honors
were accorded by the VT Army Guard. Pall bearers were Chris Sequin, Tony
Arruzza, John Arruzza, John Shingler, Dan Tyl, Tom Tyl, Frank Rush and
Fred Szczesiul. The readings were done by Tristan Cooke and Jane Cirmo.
The responsorial psalm was done by Matthew Shingler. The general
intercessions was done by Leonard Tyl. The offertory gifts were brought
to the altar by Sharon Comly and Julie Miller. A eulogy was delivered by
Rosemary Tyl and Karen Shingler. A letter from Sen. Patrick Leahy to the
family was also read. Attending were representatives from Shelburne
Farms, representatives from Sen. Leahy’s office, St. Catherine parish,
neighbors, friends from American Woolen, Winooski American Legion, and
area realtors. Shelburne Funeral Chapel of Corbin & Palmer, 209
Falls Road, Shelburne was in charge of arrangements.
JONESVILLE/LYNDEBOROUGH, N.H. — POMER, THERESA (Levanway) — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, October 14, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Richmond, with the Rev. Ronald Benoit celebrant and Monsignor Raymond Adams concelebrant. Scripture lessons were read by Carol Trombly, John Pomer’s sister and a poem was read by Hila Robinson. The gifts were presented by nieces and nephews, Jacob, Isaac and Amanda Pomer and Brett Decker. Musical selections were sung by Jeanne Desilets and Pauline Whipple accompanied by organist Mary Jo Andrews. John Pomer, husband of Theresa, and her sister, Colleen (Lavanway) Decker, shared remembrances and memories. Burial took place in Holy Rosary Cemetery with Monsignor Adams conducting the committal prayers. Pall bearers were Matt Decker, Jeremiah and Josh Trombly, Craig Russell, Geoffrey and Derek Pomer. The church was filled to capacity with Alumni of Mt. Mansfield Union High School and UVM, employees of Affymetrix, Richmond Home Supply, Lake Region General Hospital, Surgical Service at Lake Region General Hospital, All Service Auto Parts, Vermont Association of Professional Horticulturist, Sodexho, Paul Kaza Associates, Dartmouth College, Brinkerhoff Lab of Dartmouth College, Richmond Town officials, Holy Rosary communicants, Richmond business people, and a bus from Lyndeborough, N.H., with neighbors, friends and classmates of Theresa’s children, Colin and Alysa. Gifford Funeral Service, 22 Depot Street, Richmond, in charge of arrangements.

Interment followed in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, with Father Lavalley offering committal prayers. Bearers were Rolande’s sons, Richard Audette and Raymond Audette, her grandsons, Sean Audette and Cameron Audette and friends, Douglas Weston and Dean Pilon. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home in Winooski.

Music was provided by Lois Desautels. Attending were many relatives, friends, and neighbors, parishioners of St. Anthony’s. Interment followed in Resurrection Park Cemetery, South Burlington, with Deacon Meunier reading committal prayers, assisted by Father Rivard. Bearers were her neice, Pam Mullin, and nephews, Michael Mullin, Paul Luchini, Mark Luchini, Noel LaPointe, and Ron Hathaway. BURLINGTON — YANDOW, Yvonne Marie — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, October 17, 2000 at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Roland Rivard officiating. Con-celebrating the Mass and offering the Homily was the Rev. Monsignor Edward Gelineau. Assisting with the Mass was Deacon Louis Meunier and altar server Richard Medler. The Placing of the Pall was by Yvonne’s sons, Norman and his spouse, Verley Yandow, and Leo and his spouse, Norma Yandow. The Readings were by Yvonne’s grandsons, Chris and Michael Yandow. The Offertory Gifts were presented by Yvonne’s granddaughters, Cindy Stratz, Tamra Yandow, and granddaughter-in-law, Carrie Yandow. The music was by Lois Desautels and Raymond Brault. Among the many relatives and friends in attendance were delegations from many various parishes throughout the state. Interment followed in the Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington, with Father Rivard offering committal prayers. Bearers were Yvonne’s grandsons, Chris, Tom, Mike, Jeff and Peter Yandow and her great-grandson, Greg Yandow. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.

WILLISTON — BOOMHOWER, Joyce H. — A
largely attended celebration of the life of Joyce H. Boomhower was held
on Wednesday, October 18, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in the Williston Federated
Church, with the Rev. Richard Hibbert officiating. A music selection was
sung and played by her son, Dan Boomhower. Attending were many
relatives, friends, and nieghbors. Words of remembrance were offered by
several in attendance. Interment followed in East End Cemetery with Rev.
Hebert offering committal prayers. Bearers were David Driscoll, Norm
Peryea, Kim Boomhower, Ronald Hill, Robert Hill, and Paula Boomhower.
Contributions in Joyce’s memory may be made to the Dorothy Alling
Memorial Library in Williston. Arrangements were by the Ready Funeral
Home, Mountain View Chapel, 68 Pinecrest Drive, Essex Junction

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, October 18, 2000
at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Roger
Charbonneau officiating. Readings were proclaimed by Ed and Dorothy
Barewicz. Music was provided by soloists Dorothy Barewicz and Rick
Billups. Burial followed in Holy Cross Cemetery with Rev. Charbonneau
reading committal prayers. Full military honors were accorded, with the
American Flag being folded and presented to Albert’s wife, Rita
Cadorette, by the VT Army National Guard. Bearers were David Brace, Dale
Benway, Eric Gonyo, Mark Benway, Chester Hall, and Oney Boucher.
Arrangements were by the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel, Burlington.
WINOOSKI/LUNENBURG — PHELPS, DOUGLAS W. — Funeral services for Douglas W. Phelps, Jr. were celebrated Wednesday, October 18, 2000 in the LaVigne Funeral Home in Winooski, with pastor Larry Wakefield and Roy Warneck officiating. Music was by Carol Reichard, with singing by Robin Simard. Many of the relatives and friends in attendance shared special memories of Doug. Interment was on Thursday, October 19, 2000 in Riverside Cemetery in Lunenburg, with the Rev. Gerry Piper offering committal prayers. Full military honors were accorded the deceased by members of the Vermont Army National Guard. ""Amazing Grace” was played on bagpipes by Dereck Davidson. Arrangements were made by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Inc. of Winooski.

The readings were proclaimed by Thomas Kane. Music was provided by Lucille Dupont. Interment was Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at 9:30 a.m. with Father Lavalley offering committal prayers. The bearers were David Cusson, Bruce Brisson, Kim Wilburt, Robert McCann and grandsons Scott Parizo and Travis Parizo. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home Inc., 132 Main St., Winooski.
BRISTOL — TRUDO, DOROTHY PURINTON — Funeral services were held Thursday, October 19, 2000 in the Bristol Federated Church, with the Rev. Charles Garham officiating. Organist was Ruth Lougee. The responsive Reading of the Psalm 23 was led by grandson, Steven Purinton. Special music was by granddaughter, Saralynn Purinton. Interment was in Greenwood Cemetery in Bristol. Bearers were Tim Heffernan, Francis Heffernan, Steven Purinton, Victor Ahlberg, James Purinton, Scott Purinton, Peter Purinton, and Tonya Porter.

Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, Oct. 20, 2000, at 10
a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church
with the Rev. Thomas Ball officiating. Altar server was Richard Ploof.
Music was provided by organist Christine Hebert and soloist Ken Hebert.
The readings were proclaimed by Dr. Robert Hayward. Attending were many
friends, neighbors, members of the cathedral parish and a delegation
from the Knights of Columbus with the 4th degree Knights providing an
honor guard. Interment followed in Resurrection Park Cemetery with the
Rev. Ball offering committal prayers. Bearers were George’s son-in-law,
Douglas DeBarge; grandson Jonathan DeBarge; and members from the Knights
of Columbus, Jacques Trahan, John Fitzpatrick, Lucien Provencher and
Paul Jodoin. Arrangements were by Ready Funeral Home South Chapel,
Burlington.

Maurice Boucher, S.S.E., as celebrant and the Rev. Richard Lavalley as concelebrant. Altar server was Mr. Thomas Kane. The readings were proclaimed by Bernard’s grandson, Kyle Langan, and son-in-law, Damien Langan. Words of remembrance were shared by Bernard’s daughter, Rita M. Shangraw. The music was provided by Lucille Dupont. Interment followed in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery with Father Boucher and Father Lavalley offering committal prayers. Bearers were Bernard’s son-in-law, Damien Langan, grandson Kyle Langan, Mary Kay O’Brien, and grandson Jayson Piche. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.

RICHMOND — LINDE, Harold George, II – A large outpouring of family and friends were in attendance at Holy Rosary Church in Richmond for the Service of Commemoration celebrated on Monday, October 23, 2000 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald Benoit and the Rev. Roland Rivard officiating. Readers were Mr. Linde’s sister, Mildred Tiedeman, Pat Tartaglia, Tom Murphy and Kathy Quell. The poem Desiderata was read by Eileen Murphy. Musical selections were presented by Tracie and Paul Cassarino and the Christ the King Folk Group. Burial took place in Riverview Cemetery, with Rev. Benoit conducting the committal prayers. Pall bearers were sons, Daniel and Michael Linde, Ron Quell, Larry Austin, Billy Tiedeman and Craig Fortier. Representatives were present from IBM, Christ the King School and parish, Child Travel, Mt. Mansfield Union High School, Marschkes School of Tae Kwon Do, UVM Alumni, neighbors and many relatives and friends from New York and New England. BURLINGTON – ZENO, Elizabeth L. ""Betty” – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, October 23, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. in The Catholic Center at UVM with the Rev. Michael Deforge officiating. The Readings were proclaimed by Louis Izzo. The Offertory Gifts were presented by Kim Serino and Julie and Ernie Mueller. Words of Remembrance were shared with the many in attendance by Betty’s granddaughters, Stephanie, Ashley and Lindsey Zeno. The music was by Pauline Bouchard, Steve Newton and Kim Newton. Interment followed in the New Mount Calvary Cemetery, with Father DeForge offering committal prayers. Bearers were Betty’s husband, Roy Zeno, her daughter, Donna Gould, and her sons, Neil, Michael, Thomas, and Mark Zeno. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.

BURLINGTON — BISSONETTE, Bertha A. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, October 24, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Roland Rivard officiating, assisted by Deacon Louis Meunier. Music was provided by organist Lois Desautels and soloist Clarence Meunier. The Pall was placed by Mrs. Bissonette’s children, Jean McMartin, Marie Lusignan, Madaline LaVallee, Linda Tourville and Richard Bissonette. The readings were proclaimed by grandchildren, Julie Rogers, Aimee LaVallee and Lori Bergeron. The Offertory Gifts were presented by great-grandchildren, Kendra LaVallee, Ashley Young, Kristi Young, Emily Tyson and Erika Farnlof and grandchildren, Tina Young, Mark Lusignan and Daniel LaVallee. Words of remembrance were shared by grandchild, Jody Watson. Attending were many friends, relatives and parishioners of St. Anthony’s Church. Burial followed in Resurrection Park Cemetery with Deacon Meunier reading committal prayers. Pallbearers were grandsons Kevin Lusignan, Jon LaVallee, Fred Young, James Rainville, Lee Tourville, III and John Rogers. BURLINGTON — HASKINS, Michael Allen – A
largely attended Mass of Christian Burial for Michael Allen Haskins was
celebrated Tuesday October 24, 2000 at 2 p.m. in Our Lady of Mercy
Chapel at Trinity College in Burlington, with the Rev. Roland Rivard
officiating. A eulogy was offered by the Rev. Roland Ludlam of Church of
the Rock. Special musical selections were provided by pianist Sharon
Angolano and vocalists Sister Claire Boissy, Sister Miriam Ward and
Sister Mary Crosby including ""Amazing Grace”, ""Be
Not Afraid” and ""One Bread, One Body”. Offertory Gifts were
presented by daughter, Christine Haskins, family friend, Thomas Darby
and niece, Jillian Durkee. Scriptures were proclaimed by Donna Dalton.
Kind words of remembrance were shared with all attending by friends and
family. A large delegation was present from Trinity College, including
Trinity College President, Sister Jacqueline Marie Kieslich,
Vice-President of Finance, Pam Jarvis, and Vice-President of Academic
Affairs, Donna Dalton. Representatives were also present from C.P. Smith
School, as well as a delegation of co-workers from Nortrax Equipment
Company of Williston. Committal Prayers were offered by Father Rivard
outside on the Campus Green in front of the stained glass walls of the
Chapel. Full military honors were accorded the retired Desert Storm
Veteran by the United States Army Guard, 110th M.I.B.N., Fort Drum, New
York, including SSG. Campus, SGT. Rush, SGT. Clark, PFC. Danner, SPC.
English, SPC. Pollock, PFC. Burnett, SPC. Frantz. The United States
Flag, which draped the casket of the deceased Veteran was folded by the
Honor Guard and presented to Michael’s wife, Dorinda with specially
selected memorial shell casings from the preceding 21-Gun Salute.
""Taps” was sounded by TSG. Jim Noble and the
""Taps Echo” by TSG. Darryl Labrie, both members of the 158th
Fighter Wing, Vermont Air National Guard. Inurnment will be at the
convenience of the family. A reception followed in Delehanty Hall on
Campus. Bearers were: Steven Haskins, Dana Emery, Diane and Larry Judd,
Lynn and Mark Durkee, Michael Sterling, Jerry Mullin, Harry Sterling,
and Ralph Olberg. Arrangements were by the Hayes-Rich Funeral Home, 1176
Main Street, Fairfax
BURLINGTON – METIVIER, Antoinette ""Ann” — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, October 24, 2000 at 10 a.m. in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski, with the Rev. Richard Lavalley officiating. The Readings were proclaimed by Brenda Chamberlin. The music was by Lucille Dupont. Interment followed in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery with Father Lavalley offering committal prayers. Bearers were Ann’s sons-in-law, Mike Sterner, Art Cohen, Tom Riley, Bob Topping and David Muir III, and her nephew, Chris Sterner. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.

SOUTH BURLINGTON — JUIFFRE, Irene Rita — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, October 25, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. John LeDoux officiating. Assisting was Deacon Joseph Lane. Music was provided by soloist Nancy Greene and organist Mary Lawlor. In attendence were many friends, neighbors, and members of St. John Vianney parish. Interment followed in Resurrection Park Cemetery, with the Rev. LeDoux and Deacon Lane offering committal prayers. Bearers were Irene’s grandsons, Michael Szymanski and Thomas Juiffre, and friend, Richard Pickreign. Arrangements were by Ready Funeral Home South Chapel, Burlington.
A. SIMON LEVIN PORT ORANGE, FLA. — A memorial service for A. Simon Levin, 86 of Rampart Drive, Port Orange, Fla., who died Friday, October 6, 2000 in Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach, Fla., will be Wednesday, October 25, 2000 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Baggett & Summers Funeral Home, 736 South Beach Street, Daytona Beach, with the Rev. William Beebe officiating. Mr. Levin was born in Burlington. He graduated from Burlington Public School System and attended the University of Vermont. He was engaged in the sales field during his lifetime, both in installment credit and television and major appliances; a former owner of Major Appliance Corporation in Burlington. He served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1943 to 1947 in WWII. Levin moved to Daytona Beach in 1973 and was a realtor for Earth Realty, Inc. in Port Orange, Fla. In 1947, he founded the Burlington Barbershoppers and was a member of the former local Exchange Club, Optimist and Sales, Executives Clubs, former director of the Burlington Lake Champlain Chamber of Commerce, also a long time Elk in Burlington Lodge #916, he was also a member of the Burlington Lodge #100, Free and Accepted Masons, a 32nd degree Scottish rite Mason in the Vermont Consistory and a Shriner in Cairo Temple #90, A.A.O.N.M.S. of Rutland, and its Potentate in 1972, Associate Member of Bahia Temple in Orlando, Fla., a member of the International Cabiri Past Potentate’s Association and a Jester in Orlando, Fla. Court #166, Royal Order of Jesters. He is survived by his two brothers, Dr. Murray N. Levin, of Windham, N.H., and Morris J. Levin of Los Angeles, Calif. His wife, Lillian S. Levin, and a brother, Dr. A. Jacob Levin predeceased him. In lieu of other remembrances, donations may be made to The Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children, Tampa Unit, 12502 Pine Drive, North Tampa, Fla. 33612. Prayers of the faithful were shared by sons-in-law, Brian Reiff and Mark Young. The offertory gifts were presented by Buzzy’s grandchildren, Matthew and Jamie Reiff and Aaron and Kayleigh Young. Music was provided by soloist Lucy Dupont. Words of remembrance were offered by Clem Dubie and Buzzy’s son, Frederick L. Fitzgerald, Jr., MD. SOUTH BURLINGTON — QUINN, Joseph J. — A largely attended Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, October 27, 2000 at 9:30 a.m. in St. John Vianney Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. John Hamilton officiating. Concelebrating were the Rev. Msgr. John McSweeney and the Rev. John LeDoux and assisting was Deacon Joseph Lane. The Pall was placed on his casket by his granddaughters, Kathryn Perkins, Emily Quinn, Shannon Quinn and Kelly Quinn. The Readings were proclaimed by Shannon Quinn and Patricia Atwood. Music was provided by Mary Lawlor and Nancy Greene. Offertory Gifts were presented by his children, Anne Quinn, Matthew Quinn, Michael Quinn, and James Quinn. Words of Remembrance were offered by his son, Matthew and Kathryn Perkins. Present was an honor guard from the 4th degree Knights of Columbus. Attending were several relatives, friends, and neighbors, parishioners of St. John Vianney, former co-workers from the IRS, Sisters of Mercy, and many members of the Knights of Columbus. Interment followed in Resurrection Park Cemetery with Deacon Lane reading committal prayers. Honorary bearers were Dominic DiCicco, Donald Sutton, Paul Mitchell, Raymond Demers, Thomas Kane, William Strafford, and Conrad Flynn, all Past State Deputies of the Knights of Columbus. Pall bearers were grandsons, Brian Quinn and Timothy Quinn, nephews, Pierre Poissant and Sean Quinn, Emery Corey, Eugene Ducharme, and Michael Brault. Arrangements were by the Ready Funeral Home, South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington.
