BERNADETTE D CENTABAR
MILTON — A Mass of Christian Burial was
celebrated Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. St. Mark’s Roman Catholic
Church, with the Rev. John Feltz officiating. Music was provided by Mary
O’Kane. The Pall was placed by Mrs. Centabar’s children, Richard Centabar,
Beverly Keating, Brenda Viau and Madeline Desrosiers. The Offertory gifts
were presented by granddaughters Jennifer Grabowski and Sarah Desrosiers.
Words of remembrance were offered by grandchildren Allyson Downing and
Danielle Winter. Burial followed in Resurrection Park Cemetery in South
Burlington with Fr. Feltz reading committal prayers. Pallbearers were David
Viau, Fletcher Downing, Andrew Desrosiers and Jason Gauthier. Arrangements
were by the Ready Funeral Home, South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington.

 


MARGUERITE C. DOUGLAS
GEORGIA — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated
on Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at 10 a.m. in St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in
Winooski, with Rev. Benedict Kiely officiating. The altar servers were Raymond
Villemaire and Jeff Buehner. The music was by Celia Kenyon Asbell. Interment
followed in the Lakeview Cemetery in Burlington, with Father Kiely offering
committal prayers. Bearers were Robert Fisk, Jr., Gordon Hill, Jerry Martin,
James Kelley, Nicholas Martin and Sherman Clapper. Arrangements were by the
LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.

E. LAVERY
BURLINGTON — A largely attended celebration of his life was
held ono Tuesday, April 17, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. in Christ the King Roman
Catholic Church. The Reverend Michael St. Pierre officiated the Mass, assisted
by Rev. Deacon Louis Meunier. The Readings were proclaimed by Laura Martin and
David Hathaway. The Offertory Gifts were presented by Robin Gould, Kim
Johnasen, and Erin Columbia. Words of remembrance were offered by his
daughter, Brittany, Joel Snyder, Robin Gould, and Paul Malaney. Attending were
several relatives friends and neighbors. Music was provided by Robin Gould,
soloist. Honorary bearers were his son, John; his brothers Tim and Jay;
step-son Ryan Carpentier; and Jeff Lambert, Joel Snyder, David Abair and Paul
Malaney. Omitted from his obituary were nieces and nephews, Tommy, Tara,
Nicholas, and Jesse. Arrangements were by Ready Funeral Home, South Chapel,
261 Shelburne Rd., South Burlington.

COLCHESTER — HAMMOND,
Lilla (Bergeron)
— A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday,
April 18, 2001, at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester by the
Rev. Wendell Searles. The readings were proclaimed by Mary Beth Gilliam and
Adam Danaher. The offertory gifts were presented by Nicole Danaher, Jordan
Danaher, David Hammond, and Jill Hammond, all grandchilden of Lilla. Memories
of Lilla were shared with the many in attendance by her son, James Hammond.
The altar servers were Leonel Sabourin and Al DeRuyck. Music was provided by
Mary O’Kane. Interment followed in New Mount Calvary Cemetery in Burlington
with the Rev. Searles offering committal prayers. Bearers were Lilla’s
grandsons, Gregory Hammond, Jim Roche, Michael Hammond, Adam Danaher, Eric
Hammond, and Philip Hammond. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home,
Winooski

Nelson
— A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, April, 20,
2001, at noon in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski by the Rev.
Benedict Kiely. The readings were proclaimed by Diane Potvin. Music was
provided by Mary O’Kane. Arrangements were by LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski

p.m. in the Ready Funeral Chapel, 934 North Avenue. Burial will be at a later
date in the family lot in Proctor.

Potvin. The music was by Lucille Dupont. Bearers were Butch DuPont and
Leonard Berthiaume. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.

LAWRENCE
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, April 24,, at
10 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception by Rev. Thomas Ball. A
musical tribute, "Evelyn’s Song," was played by her son Keith Lawrence, on the
Native American flute. Readings and words of remembrance were also shared by
Keith Lawrence. Music was provided by the Choir of Christian Burial and
organist Lori McCormick. In attendance were many friends, neighbors and
members of the Cathedral parish. Interment followed in Resurrection Park
Cemetery with the Rev. Ball reading committal prayers. Bearers were Peter
Lavallee, John Douglas, Melissa Lawrence, Amanda Lawrence, Adam Lafayette, and
Ryan Lawrence. Arrangements were by Ready Funeral Home, South Chapel,
Burlington
 

WINOOSKI
TICEHURST, LILLIAN A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated
Tuesday, April 24, at 11:30 a.m. in St. Stephen Catholic Church by Rev.
Benedict Kiely. The readings were proclaimed by Lillian’s son, James Ticehurst.
The Alter server was Jeff Buehner. Music was by Celia Kenyon Asbell. Bearers
were Stephen Ticehurst, Rick Beauchemin, Jeffrey Otero, Bruce Giguere, Richard
Bushey and Linda Atkins. Arrangements were by LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.

BRISTOL — LaFAYETTE, Donna Lee — A Mass of Christian Burial was
celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Ambrose Catholic Church by the Rev.
Pierre LaVallee and the Rev. Albert Baltz, concelebrants. The crucifix was
placed on the casket by Donna’s son, Stephen. A reading was proclaimed by
Sister Isoline Duclos. Marybeth Hebert presented a poem written by Donna’s
daughter, Jessica. Music was provided by the St. Ambrose Folk Group. A
delegation from the Bristol Rescue Squad attended. Interment was in Mount
St. Joseph Cemetery. Bearers were Dwaine Hood, Donnie Willis, Cullen
Bullard, James Bouvier, Halsey Dunton, Gary Smith, Joel Clodgo, and Gary
Clodgo.

BURLINGTON — PENDERS, John F. — A Mass of Christian Burial was
celebrated by Monsignor John Mc Sweeney in the Cathedral of the Immaculate
Conception,Thursday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m. Brian Bouchard was the
eucharistic minister. The music was provided by the Choir for Christian
Comfort. Representatives were present from the UVM main campus and the
Living and Learning Center. Interment followed in Resurrection Park with
Monsignor. McSweeney conducting the committal service. Full military honors
were accorded by the Vermont Air National Guard. Bearers were Charles Hahn,
Todd and Gary Bouchard, Joseph Chartier, Howard Beaupre, and Matt Palin.
Arrangements were in care of the Elmwood-Meunier Funeral Home.

ESSEX
JUNCTION — BERRY, Patricia A. (Gould) — A largely attended
celebration of her life was held Friday, April 27, 2001, at 11 a.m. in Calvary
Baptist Church with Pastor James Gangwer officiating, assisted by Pastor Gabe
Raffa and Pastor Steve Hertle. Music was provided by David Blanchard,
brother-in-law, and Diane Bombard. Attending were many relatives, friends and
neighbors. Interment followed in Blue Mountain Cemetery in Ryegate with Pastor
Gangwer offering committal prayers. Bearers were her sons, Timothy Berry and
Scott Berry; her grandson, Joseph Schraml II; son-in-law Joseph Schraml; and
her brothers, Edward Gould and Theodore Gould. Arrangements were by the Ready
Funeral Home, Mountain View Chapel, 68 Pinecrest Drive, Essex Junction.

BURLINGTON — SOUTHWELL, Constance E. — A Mass of Christian Burial
was celebrated by the Rev. John Feltz on Saturday at 1 p.m. in St. Mark
Church. Organist was Christine Hebert who sang along with Ken Hebert and
Charlie Auer, all old friends of the family. Heather Southwell, Connie’s
daughter, played ""Ave Maria” on the viola accompanied by the group. In
attendance were many friends and neighbors from North Avenue Extension area.
Arrangements were in the care of Elmwood-Meunier.

 
COLCHESTER — THURESSON,
Cherolyn M.
— A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday, April
28, 2001, at 11 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Colchester by the
Rev. Jay Haskin with the Rev. Mr. William Glinka assisting. The readings were
proclaimed by Emily Huestel and Raymond Fuller. The offertory gifts were
presented by Cherolyn’s daughter, Theresa Fortner, and grandchildren Patrick
and Shannen Fortner. Words of remembrance were shared by Jonnel Fairbanks. The
acolytes were Patrick and Shannen Fortner. The altar server was Duane Crowley.
Music was provided by Celia Kenyon. Interment followed in St. Stephen Cemetery
in Colchester with the Rev. Haskin and Deacon Glinka offering committal
prayers. Bearers were John Fairbanks, Paul Frenette, David Gauthier, David
Dennis, Neil Lunderville, and Paul Choiniere. Arrangements were by the LaVigne

BURLINGTON — BURBO, Walter J. Sr. — A Mass of Christian Burial was
celebrated by the Rev. Raymond Doherty, SSE, Monday, April 30, at 1 p.m. in
St. Joseph Co-Cathedral. Representatives were present from the D.A.V.,
Chapter 8, Burlington Health and Rehab, Burlington High School, McClure 5,
Fletcher Allen Health Care, Champlain Cable, Peerless Clothing, and
Banknorth Group R.P.S. Department. A eulogy was prepared and delivered by
his brother, Douglas Burbo. Warm words of remembrance were spoken by his
grandson, Walter Burbo. Interment followed in Lake View Cemetery with the
Rev. Doherty conducting the committal service. Full military honors were
then accorded by the Vermont Army National Guard with his wife, Mrs. Helen
M. Burbo, being presented his flag. Bearers were his grandsons, Michael,
Shawn, and Walter Burbo, Edmond and Jason Parent, and Joshua Terry and his
nephews, Charles and Ralph Burbo. To correct the obituary; in addition to
his parents, Walt was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Burbo, and a
grandson, Rodney Gene Terry. Arrangements were in care of Elmwood-Meunier
Funeral Home.

 
BURLINGTON
BURNELL, Clifford E. — A graveside service will be held at 11
a.m. Monday, April 30, 2001, in Lakeview Cemetery for Clifford E. Burnell,
who died in St. Petersburg, Fla., in February. Cliff was a longtime resident
of Burlington, who worked as a meat packer in the area for many years. He
will be buried next to his wife, Ila, who died in 1979. Arrangements are by
Boucher and Pritchard Funeral Directors.
 


COLCHESTER — FISH, Howard Hart — A Mass of Christian Burial was
celebrated Monday April 30 at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church, by Rev.
Roger Charbonneau. The Placing of the Book of the Liturgy of the Hours was
by Kathaleen Bordeau. The readings were by Michael Chauvin and David Fish.
The Responsorial Psalm was by Ellen Haselman. the offertory gifts were
presented by David Fish and his family, Cindy, Jessica, Meghan, Loren and
David Fish. Altar servers were Leonel Sabourin and Al DeRuyck. The
eucharistic ministers were Sister Carmen Proulx and Gabrielle Hammond. Music
was by Mary O’Kane. Interment followed in the Resurrection Park Cemetery in
South Burlington with the Rev. Charbonneau offering committal prayers.
Bearers were John Fish, Daniel Fish, Jonathan Rutstein, Alan Bordeau,
Michael Chauvin and John MacDonald. Arrangements were made by the LaVigne
