BURLINGTON — ST. PETER, Irene H. — Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 1, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel with the Rev. Roger Charbonneau officiating. The poem ""Autumn Leaves” written by Skip Murphy, was read by daughter, Sharron Beattie. Attending were many relatives and friends. Interment followed in Milton Village Cemetery, with Father Charbonneau reading committal prayers. Pallbearers were Fred Nye, Dave Minahan, John Thompson, Bud Desso, Chris Bishop, and Michael Bishop. Arrangements were by the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington.

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. — DAIGLE, Bernice G. — Funeral services for Bernice G. Daigle, 75, formerly of Leslie Drive, Portsmouth, were held June 2, 2000. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Catherine of Siena Church by the Rev. Monsignor Lawrence Burns. Acolyte was David Palumbo. The readings were proclaimed by Robert Daigle and Timothy Hubbard. The prayers of intercession were given by Christopher Daigle. The Eucharistic gifts were presented by Ann and Tom Hubbard. The euology was delivered by Tom Hubbard. Burial was in the family lot in Calvary Cemetery with Monsignor Burns conducting the committal. Bearers were Donald Gindlesperger, Timothy Hubbard, Jeffrey Hubbard, Emily Hubbard, Christopher Daigle and Amee Burton.
BURLINGTON — GRINNELL, Gertrude E. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, June 2, 2000, at 10 a.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with the Rev. Thomas Ball officiating. Music was provided by the Cathedral Choir with Christine Hebert at the organ. Burial followed in Resurrection Park Cemetery with Father Ball offering committal prayers. Bearers were sons Paul and Kenneth Grinnell and grandchildren Allison and Kevin Grinnell. Arrangements were by the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington.
SOUTH BURLINGTON — SEE- MANN, Bergit ""Bea” — A memorial service will be held for Bea See- mann, who died March 9, 2000. The service will be held in Ascension Lutheran Church, Allen Road, South Burlington, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 2.
BURLINGTON — SULLIVAN, Mildred E. — A memorial service celebrating the life of Mildred E. Sullivan will be held Sunday, July 2, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in St. Anthony’s Cemetery in Sheldon Springs. Mildred passed away on January 13, 2000 in Fairhope, Ala. She was a summer resident in North Hero. Friends and relatives are invited to attend and remember this loving and gentle woman.

JERICHO — FRANCO, Judy (Kirby) ""Wells” — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Saturday, June 3, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski, with the Rev. Richard Lavalley officiating. The music was by Noreen Pelchat. Bearers were Joe Lamaire, Michael Irwin, Christopher Franco, Joe Smith, Jeff Bean and Phil Couture. Interment was on Monday, June 5, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington, with the Rev. Gerald Bombardier offering committal prayers. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.
HINESBURG — GOODRICH, Maurice J. — A largely attended Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, June 3, 2000, at 10 a.m. in St. Jude’s Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Francis Connors as the main celebrant. Concelebrating were the Rev. Francis Holland, the Rev. John Hamilton and the Rev. William Corcoran. Music was provided by organist and soloist Thomas Crowley. The pall was placed by grandsons Michael Barboza and Joseph Goodrich. The readers were Elaine Hart, June Giroux and Peggy Cioffi. The homilist was Father Corcoran. Words of praise and remembrance were offered by Hinesburg Town Clerk Mary Zuber. To honor Maurice’s love for clarinet music, the recessional was ""Amazing Grace,” played on the clarinet by Tom Stanziola. Burial followed in Resurrection Park Cemetery with Father Connors, Father Corcoran, Father Holland and Father Hamilton sharing in committal prayers. Full mitary honors were accorded with the American flag being folded and presented to Mrs. Goodrich by the Vermont Army National Guard. The bearers were Nolan Francis, Matthew Francis, Stephen Aube, Paul Eddy, Wayne Bissonette and Mark Goodrich. Arrangements were by the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington.
BARRE — LITCHFIELD, Connie — A Committal Service for Connie Litchifield, age 91, who passed away on February 26, 2000 will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport. The Hooker and Whitcomb Funeral Home, 7 Academy Street, Barre is in charge of arrangements.
SPRINGFIELD/SOUTH BURLINGTON — QUIGLEY, Thomas — A graveside service for Attorney Thomas M. Quigley, 85, a former resident of Rutland and Springfield, who died Jan. 28, 2000, in Burlington, will be held Saturday, June 3, 2000, at 2 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery in Rutland. Mr. Quigley was the husband of Juliet ""Judy” (Jenney) Quigley, who survives. The Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland is in charge of arrangements.
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. — SKYWILL, Osiris V. — A memorial service will be held in St. John’s Church, at the corner of Hancock and Union Street, in Springfield, Mass., on Saturday June 3, 2000, at 2 p.m. Osiris passed away May 20, 2000.
ESSEX JUNCTION — WILLIAMS, Maurice G. — Funeral services were held Saturday, June 3, 2000, at 9 a.m. in the chapel of Corbin and Palmer in Essex Junction, with the Rev. Charles Davignon conducting the service. Readings were proclaimed by grandson Todd Williams and granddaughter Kelli Mongeon. Words of remembrance were shared by son Ray Williams. Burial followed in the family lot in Fairview Cemetery in Essex Junction. Bearers were children Lois Mongeon, Ray Williams, Dolores Bushey and Roger Williams; son-in-law Dennis Mongeon, daughter-in-law Cathy Williams, and daughter-in-law Theresa Williams. Attending the service were representatives from Racquet’s Edge, Heritage Group, Grand Union Company, and Timberlane Dental Group.

ESSEX JUNCTION — BROWNE, Audrey Margaret — A memorial service for Audrey M. Browne, 77, who died May 19, 2000, at her home in Essex Junction, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 5, 2000, in St. James Episcopal Church in Essex Junction. Memorial contributions may be made in her name to Visiting Nurse Association, Hospice Program, 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, Vt. 05446; or the Humane Society of Greater Burlington, 633 Queen City Park Road, South Burlington, Vt. 05403. MIDDLEBURY — ALFLEDA MARY (COUNTER) DeGRAY — A Mass of Christian Burial for Alfleda DeGray, who passed away June 3, 2000, was celebrated in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Middlebury on June 7, 2000. Interment and committal services followed in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The celebrant was the Rev. John McDermott. Organist was Kevin Parizo. Bearers were Michael DeGray, Stanley DeGray, Edmund Winn, Donald DeGray, David DeGray and Evan Hayford. Sanderson Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

WINOOSKI — ROY, Raymond A. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, June 8, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gerald Bombardier officiating. Con-celebrants were Rev. Marcel Rainville, S.S.E., Rev. Bernard Bourgeois, and Rev. Jean-Paul LaPlante. The Readings were by Raymond’s daughter-in-law, Margaret Roy, and his grandson, Aaron Roy. The music was by the St. Francis Xavier Choir with organist Tom Crowley. Interment followed in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery with Father Bombardier, Father Bourgeois, and Father LaPlante offering committal prayers. Special memories of Raymond were shared with the many family members and friends in attendance in the church by his cousin J. William O’Brien and in the cemetery by his niece Caroline LaMothe Ogren. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main Street, Winooski.

MARSHFIELD — EVANS, Ralph F. — A memorial service for Ralph F. Evans, 87, of Marshfield, who died Dec. 27, 1999, will be held June 10, 2000, in the South Ryegate Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Catherine Cook will officiate Ricker Funeral Home, Woodsville, N.H., is in charge of arrangements.

VERGENNES — GOULET, Marion (Hayes) — A committal service for Marion (Hayes) Goulet, 87, who died Jan. 26, 2000, in Woodsville, N.H., will be held Saturday, June 10, 2000, at 11 am. in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Vergennes. Ricker Funeral Home, Woodsville, N.H., is in charge of arrangements.
RONALD J. PIERCE July 9, 1931 – Jan. 31, 2000 A memorial service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held June 10 at 2:30 p.m. in the Centenary Church in Stanstead, Quebec. There will be a reception at the church immediately following. Ron was active in law enforcement in Pennsylvania and Vermont and with veterans and service organizations in Pennsylvania, Vermont and Quebec. ELEANOR GALLUP — BURLINGTON — A memorial service celebrating the life of Eleanor Gallup was held on Monday, June 12, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in South Burlington with Tom Benson officiating. Invocation was provided by Roberta Wheeler and the Plan of Salvation by Jeff Dauphinee. Eulogy was shared by Larry Hugo and Celia Carpenter. Music was provided by organist Sister Ruth Wallace. A special musical presentation was offered by pianist Lynn Fife and violinist Carolyn Bever. Words of remembrance were shared by many of Eleanor’s friends that were in attendance. The benediction was proclaimed by Don Wheeler. Burial was held at 3:00 p.m. in Pleasant View Cemetery in Orleans, with Tom Benson offering the gravesite dedication. Arrangements were by Ready Funeral Home South Chapel, Burlington.

ESSEX JUNCTION — BINGHAM, William E. — Largely attended funeral services for William E. ""Bing” Bingham, who died May 31, 2000, were held Tuesday, June 13, 2000, at 2 p.m. in Grace United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert Lowenthal officiating. Organist was Mrs. Marie Johnson. The 23rd Palm and reflections on Bing’s life were offered by a family friend, Madonna Vernal. Bill’s son, Kurt, spoke words of remembrance, and many others in attendance shared special memories and humorous anecdotes in their association with Bing. In attendance were representatives of the National Ski Patrol from Bolton Valley Ski Area, International Business Machines of Essex Junction, the former Central Vermont Railway, Franklin Lodge No. 4, F&AM of St. Albans; Essex Rescue and Essex Fire Department, Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department, BMW Riders of Vermont, BMW Motorcycle Owners of Vermont, the Vermont Retreads, Americade, Essex Arts Council, Champlain Water District, Grace United Methodist Church family, Vermont Hunter Safety Instructors, Vermont Department of Motor Vehicles, National Rifle Association and Bellows Free Adademy Class of 1949. Honorary bearers were Keith Chase, Peter Vlahos, Raoul Beaulieu and William Parkhill. Following the service, a reception for family and friends was hosted in the church fellowship hall, hosted by the Grace United Methodist Women. Monday evening a Masonic ritualistic service of remembrance was conducted by Franklin Lodge No. 4, F&AM, in the Heald Funeral Home with Robert Coon, Worshipful Master; James Jackson, senior warden; Stewart Gasson, junior warden; and Roger Spaulding, chaplain. Arrangements were by the Heald Funeral Home, 87 S. Main St., St. Albans.
WINOOSKI — PROVOST, Eleanor L. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, June 13, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church with the Rev. Richard Lavalley officiating. The Readings were by Mr. Thomas Kane. Special memories of Eleanor were shared with the many in attendance by her son Robert. The music was by Lucille Dupont. Interment followed in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery with Father Lavalley offering committal prayers. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski, VT.
COLCHESTER/BRONX, N.Y. — ROGATE, Maria Albertelli — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, June 13, 2000 at noon in the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester, with the Rev. Roger Charbonneau officiating. The Readings were proclaimed by Sister Carmen Proulx. The Offertory Gifts were presented by Mary’s grandchildren, Lauren, Marissa, Joseph, Regina and Daniel. A special prayer was shared with family and friends by Regina Rogate. The altar servers were Leonel Sabourin and Francis Desrochers. The music was by Mary O’Kane. Interment was held in the St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx, N.Y. at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 14, 2000. Beareres were Victor Walker, Herb Drew, Joseph Rogate, Tom Klingebiel and Dan Rogate. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.
NORTH HERO — YANDOW, Elaine T. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, June 13, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at St. Anne’s Shrine in Isle La Motte. The celebrant was shrine director Father Maurice U. Boucher, S.S.E. Assisting as deacon was the Rev. Mr. Alan Vincellette of St. Amadeus parish in Alburg. Present in the sanctuary and offering special words of remembrance was the Rev. Deborah Laporte, pastor of the Champlain Islands United Methodist parishes. the white funeral pall was placed on Elaine’s casket by friends Lorraine and Dennis Seymour. The crucifix was then placed upon the pall by Elaine’s partner of 27 years, Donna Seymour. Readings from scripture were proclaimed by Pat Burton and Sister Madonna Betit, S.S.J. Offertory gifts were presented by Elaine’s brother, Paul Yandow; and sisters Claire Wing, Pauline Parks, Carol LaTulippe and Barbara Casper. Others offering special words of remembrance, former associates of Elaine, were Maggie Green, David McCallum, Linda Lambesis and Joan Knight. Music was provided by organist and soloist Mary Jo Gillilan. Among the delegations in attendance were representatives from the Sisters of St. Joseph, St. Albans Bay School and the Sarah Holbrook Center. Interment followed in the family lot in Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington with Deacon Vincellette, assisted by the Rev. Mrs. Laporte, reading the committal prayers. The bearers were Doug Seymour, Craig Seymour, Michael Morin, Mark Bove, Scott Wilson and John Casper.

Gerald Bombardier officiating. The altar servers were Edmund Villemaire and Richard Billups. The music was provided by Mary O’Kane. Memories of Ida were shared by Pearl Boyer. Interment followed in Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington with Father Bombardier offering committal prayers. Bearers were Frank Bessette, Julie Deyette, Tammy Abajian, Angela Deyette, Pearl Boyer and Robert Miller. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.
BURLINGTON — GOODRICH, Carol Rocheleau — A largely attended Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Co-Cathedral Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Benedict Kiely officiating. The reading was proclaimed by her cousin, Jackie Greenwood. The offertory gifts were presented by her cousins, Collette Hebert and Patty Burritt. The eulogy and words of remembrance were offered by her mother, Evelyn Rocheleau Davis. Attending were many relatives, friends and neighbors, Fletcher Allen Call Center, and Barnes and Noble. Burial was in New Mount Calvary Cemetery with Father Kiely reading committal prayers. Bearers were her nephews, Todd and Chad Bouchard; her uncle, Lucien Hebert; and family friends, Eric Aubin, Jeff Dudley and Mike Brodeur. Arrangements were by the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road, Burlington.

SOUTH HERO — LARROW, Eileen I. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, June 15, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in South Hero, with the Rev. Philip Branon officiating. Special memories of Eileen were shared by her granddaughter, Nancy Lines. The music was by the St. Rose of Lima Church Choir of Christian Comfort, with organist Lilli Spitzner. Interment followed in the South Hero Cemetery with Father Branon offering committal prayers. Bearers were Eileen’s grandsons, Michael Bouffard and William Bouffard, her grandson-in-law, Gary Lines, and nephews, Peter Martel, Leward Martel and Scott Shumway. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.
SOUTH HERO — McDONOUGH, Gary — A memorial service was held Thursday, June 15, 2000, aboard the ferryboat to Plattsburgh to commemorate the life of Gary McDonough of South Hero. The service was led by his sister-in-law, Sister Aline Paris, R.S.M. His brother, Dennis, provided a special reading and Gary was eulogized by his son, Michael; father, Arthur; brother, Jeff; and fried, E.P. Ethridge. The honor guards were ferryboat captains Ed Gelinas, Roger Blow, Dave Spence and Cindy Alsop. Bagpipe music was proved by Joe Pobieglo. Gary’s spirit was set free by his three sons, Michael, Scott and Sean. A celebration of his life continued at the McDonough residence. The day ended with a bonfire, a brief storm, a beautiful sunset and a rainbow. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all those who attended the ceremony, to those who provided food, flowers and special donations and support, and to those who sent expressions of sympathy. Special thanks are also conveyed to Ray Pecor and the LCT staff who participated in the ceremony, to the VNA/Hospice nurses, especially Susan; and Tom Lavigne. Do not stand at my grave and weep. ESSEX JUNCTION — PRAKELT, Stewart Frederick ""Freddy” — A largely attended funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 15, 2000, in Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Essex Junction. The Rev. Jefrey S. Jensen officiated. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery. Bearers were Freddy’s grandfather, J. Andrew Collins, and his uncle, Brian Collins. In attendance were many employees or Four Seasons Garden Center, Baird Center for Children and Families and many neighbors. Arrangements were by Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home.

COLCHESTER — BRIGANTE, Samuel P. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, June 16, 2000, at 11 a.m. in Holy Cross Catholic Church in Colchester with the Rev. Roger Charbonneau officiating. The readings were proclaimed by Lorena Dutelle and George Halnon. Sammy’s uncle, George Halnon, read a poem, ""Dearest Sammy,” written by his aunt, Mary Halnon. Special thoughts and memories of Sammy, collaborated by his five brothers, were shared with the many in attendance by his brother, Dan. The altar servers were Leonel Sabourin and Francis Desrochers. The Eucharistic minister was Sister Carmen Proulx. The music was provided by Mary O’Kane. Interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery with Father Charbonneau offering committal prayers. Bearers were Sammy’;s brothers, James Brigante, Jeffery Brigante, Dan Brigante, Dean Brigante and Scott Brigante and Sammy’s nephew, Christopher Desjardin. Arrangements were by the Lavigne Funeral Home, Winooski.
HINESBURG — RIGGS, Norma Jean — Funeral services were held in the United Church of Hinesburg on Friday, June 16, 2000, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Gordon Mitchinson presiding. Special music was sung and played on the guitar by longtime friend Jimmy Parkinson. The church choir, under the direction of Rufus Patrick, sang several of Norma Jean’s favorite hymns. Ushers were Paul Eddy and John Mead. Bearers were Ernest and Richard Millham, David Lyman, Brad Wainer, James Parkinson, Wayne Palmer, and Michael Spear. Burial took place in Hinesburg Village Cemetery with the Rev. Mitchinson conducting the committal prayers. The church was filled to capacity with neighbors, employees of Cedar Glen Golf Club, G.S. Blodgett; Paul, Frank and Collins, Lantman Store, members of LaPlatte Chapter No. 64 O.E.S., town officials from Hinesburg and Shelburne, Hinesburg Fire and Police Department members, residents of Kelley Field, the Deer Hunters group and their wives, childhood classmates and friends. Gifford Funeral Service, 22 Depot St., Richmond, was in charge of arrangements.

CHANGE IN ARRANGEMENTS STOWE — von Behren, Marie S. — Memorial services for Marie S. von Behren will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2000 in the St. John’s-in-the-Mountains Episcopal Church in Stowe as stated in her obituary in yesterday’s paper. However, the period of visiting and viewing for family and friends will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m this evening in the White-Fiess Funeral Home, 165 Brooklyn Street, Morrisville. This was previously planned for Saturday morning at the church prior to the service.

GEORGIA — COVILLON, David A. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski with the Rev. Richard Lavalley officiating. The readings were proclaimed by Dianne Potvin. The eulogy was shared with the many in attendance by his son-in-law, Mark Tuttle. The music was provided by Lucille Dupont. Bearers were Ken Bessette Jr., Tom Adams, Dick Deragan, Ryan Tuttle, Pete Gravelin and James Skidmore, all members of the Vermont Street Rodders Car Club. Interment was held Friday, June 23, 2000, at 1 a.m. in St. Albans Bay Cemetery with the Rev. Maurice Roy offering committal prayers. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.
WINOOSKI — DUSABLON, Yvonne — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at 11:30 in St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Winooski with the Rev. Gerald Bombardier celebrating and the Rev. Roland Soutiere concelebrating. Words of remembrance were shared by Joseph Boutin. The readings were proclaimed by Paula Kolich and Ashley Nichols. The music was provided by Celia Kenyon. The interment was Friday, June 23, 2000, at 9:30 a.m. in Resurrection Park Cemetery in South Burlington with Father Bombardier offering committal prayers. Bearers were Phil Martelle, Michael Nichols, Christopher Nichols, Ron Dusablon, Tom Kolich and Lee Dusablon. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.
WILLISTON — MYERS, Hilda B. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Tuesday, June 20, 2000, at noon in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with the Rev. Donald Ravey, celebrant, assisted by Deacon Joseph Lane. The cross bearer and reader was Roger Ross. The musical selections were sung by granddaughter Katrina Myers. The gifts were presented by grandchildren Molly and Max Constant and Holly and Katrina Myers. Burial took place in East Cemetery with the Rev. Ravey and Deacon Lane conducting the committal prayers. Words of remembrance were shared by her eldest son, Donald Myers. Bearers were grandson Max Constant and nephews Allen and Roy Holcomb, Bruce LaBounty, Randy Bruce, and Kelly and Gerald Degree. Attending the service were many communicants of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Religious Hospitalers of St. Joseph, Fanny Allen School of Nursing alumni and Essex Junction High School alumni, neighbors and friends. Arrangements were by Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Essex Junction.

COLCHESTER — HATIN, Gerald A. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski, with the Rev. Richard Lavalley officiating. The Rev. ""Skip” Baltz Con-Celebrated the Mass and gave the Homily. The Readings were proclaimed by Mr. Thomas Kane. Assisting with the Mass was Deacon Norman Langlois. The music was by Lucille Dupont and Yvette Tatro. Interment followed in the Fort Ethan Allen Cemetery in Colchester with Father Baltz offering committal prayers. Full military honors were accordded the deceased by members of the VT Air National Guard. The American Flag was presented to Gerry’s daughter Deborah by General Martha Rainville. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.

BURLINGTON — OLIPHANT, Charles ""Laurence” and Maria — A memorial service for the late Charles ""Laurence” and the late Maria Oliphant of Burlington will be held June 24, 2000, at 1 p.m. in the Mountain Chapel on the Toll Road in Stowe.
WILLISTON — ROSS, Julian S. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, June 24, 2000, at 1:30 p.m. in St. Lawrence Church in Essex Junction with the Rev. Gerald Bombardier, celebrant. Server was Leo Beauregard, and musical selections were sung by organist Janet Gallagher. Burial took place in the family lot in Greenwood Cemetery in St Albans with the Rev. Maurice Roy conducting the committal prayers. Bearers were Paul Bell, David Vallett, Alan Wright, Paul Demenkow and Scott Rebaulet. Attending the service were communicants of St. Lawrence Church, IBM employees, bridge partners and neighbors. Corbin and Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant St., Essex Junction, was in charge of arrangements.
SOUTH BURLINGTON — RUEL, Harvey P. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday, June 24, 2000, at 11 a.m. in St. Anthony Catholic Church in Burlington with the Rev. Roland Rivard officiating. The readings were proclaimed by Sister Aline Paris, R.S.M. The gospel was read by Deacon Louis Meunier. Altar servers were Larry Limoge and John ""Jack” Rouille. Interment followed in Fort Ethan Allen Cemetery in Colchester with Sister Aline and Father Rivard offering committal prayers. Full military honors were accorded the deceased by members of the Vermont Air National Guard. An honor guard was also presented by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 782 and Post 1767. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.
SHELBURNE — WEBB, J. Watson, Jr. — Trinity Episcopal Church in Shelburne was filled to capacity with friends and relatives for the funeral celebration of the life of J. Watson Webb, Jr. on Saturday, June 24, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. Craig Smith, Rector of Trinity Church, was the celebrant, with Jenny Ockert crucifer and Lay Reader, and John Henzel, organist. Reflections were shared by nephew, Sam Webb, Jr., chairman of the Shelburne Museum Board, Philip von Stade, Rick Peters, a friend and employee of Shelburne Farms for twenty-five years, nephew, Seward Webb, and longtime Calif. friend, Ursula Fox. Burial took place in the family plot, in the private cemetery, on Shelburne Farms, with Rev. Smith conducting the committal prayers. Pall bearers were Sam Webb, Jr., Seward Webb, Rick Peters, Rick Bessette, Frank Galipeau and Charles Fox. Attending the service were Shelburne Museum Trustees, Shelburne Farms and Southern Acres employees, Vermont Historical Society members, communicants of Trinity Episcopal Church, Shelburne Town officials and friends and relatives from Calif., N.Y., and all of New England. Shelburne Funeral Chapel of Corbin & Palmer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Interment followed in Fort Ethan Allen Cemetery in Colchester with Father Holland offering committal prayers. Bearers were Jerome Bourgeois, Patrice Bourgeois, Kelly Hayes, Bruce Bleau, Arthur Bleau and Michael Serrano. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.
ESSEX JUNCTION — McDONALD, Yvonne — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, June 28, 2000, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church in Essex Junction with the Rev. Francis Holland officiating. The readings were proclaimed by Robert Fredette and Stephen Martin. The music was provided by the Holy Family Choir of Christian Burial under the direction of Marguerite Meunier. The eulogy was given by her daughter, Betty Hammond. Interment followed in Holy Family Cemetery with the Rev. Francis Holland offering committal prayers. Bearers were her grandsons, Roy McDonald, Larry Tromblay, Stephen Martin, Shawn Martin, Jeff Maring, William Ranger, Bradley McDonald and Brian McDonald. Arrangements were made by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.

BURLINGTON — ALLARD, Roger — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Thursday, June 29, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Burlington, with the Rev. Roland Rivard officiating, and Deacon Louis Meunier assisting. The Readings were proclaimed by Kathy Limoge. The music was by Lois Desautels. Words of remembrance were shared by his son-in-law, Terry Cushing. Interment followed in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Winooski, with Deacon Meunier offering committal prayers. Bearers were Rick Vukoder, Alan Winegar, Jerry Bushey, Chris Poirier, Kenny Poirier, and Keith Poirier. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home in Winooski.
BURLINGTON — CARPENTER, W. Roy — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, June 29, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with the Rev. Thomas Ball officiating. Concelebrating was the Rev. Roland Rivard. Music was provided by the Choir of Christian Burial. Attending were many relatives, friends, and neighbors, and parishioners of the Cathedral. Interment followed in Holy Cross Cemetery, St. Albans, with the Rev. John Hackett, brother-in-law, reading committal prayers. Bearers were William Carpenter, Jr., Chris Yandow, Chip Spillane, Dr. Joseph Kiernan, John Carpenter, and Michael Towle
COLCHESTER — ROTELLA, SR., Joseph S. — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, June 29, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski, with the Rev. Richard Lavalley officiating. The Readings were proclaimed by Mr. Thomas Kane. Special memories of Mr. Rotella were shared with family and friends by his son-in-law, Ron Lavallee. The music was by Yvette Tatro and Kay Marquette. Interment followed in the St. Stephen’s Cemetery in Colchester, with Father Lavalley offering committal prayers. Bearers were Henry Sorrell, James Sorrell, Jason Lavallee, Joe Leombruno and Rafael Diaz Alvarez. Arrangements were by the LaVigne Funeral Home, Winooski.
ESSEX JUNCTION — THOMAS, Cedric ""Teddy” — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on June 29, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Lawrence Church, Essex Junction, with The Rev. Thomas Ball conducting the service, assisted by altar server Leo Beauregard. Music was provided by organist Kristine Hebert, and singer Ken Hebert. Granddaughter Jennifer Bechard shared memories, a poem was written and read by Teddy’s sister, Waneta Tanner, and a poem was read by son-in-law, Roy Allen. Burial followed in the family lot in Holy Family Cemetery, Essex Junction, with Rev. Ball conducting the committal prayers. Pallbearers were grandsons, Buddy Allen, Arron Thomas; sons-in-laws, Roy Allen, Michael Lujan, Bob Bechard, and Jim Boozan. Attending the service were representatives from: IBM, Pepsi, Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington Health and Rehabilitation Center, and members of St. Lawrence Church. Arrangements were by Corbin & Palmer Funeral Home, 9 Pleasant Street, Essex Junction.

UNDERHILL — MILLER, Carl C. — Funeral services were held Friday, June 30, 2000, at 11 a.m. in the LaVigne Funeral Home in Winooski with the Rev. Francis R. Prive, pastor of St. Thomas parish in Underhill, celebrant. The readings and prayers of the faithful were proclaimed by Kathy Koniuto and Roger Koniuto. Family and friends shared reflections on the life of Carl. The music was provided by Yvette Tatro and Kate Marquette.
BURLINGTON — WESCOTT, Russell ""Rusty” S. Wescott Jr. –A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday, June 30, 2000, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Co-Cathedral Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Hornat, S.S.E., officiating. Attending were several relatives, friends and neighbors. Interment followed in New Mount Calvary Cemetery with Father Hornat offering committal prayers. Bearers were Joe Bouchard, Ken Beardsley, Steve Ayers, Chris O’Connor, Casey O’Connor and Shaun Trepanier. Arrangements were by the Ready Funeral Home south Chapel, 261 Shelburne Road.
